Exercise EFES-2024, which was conducted in Western Anatolia, Central Aegean, Bay of Izmir and Doğanbey Firing and Exercise Area, was successfully completed.
The exercise was conducted in two phases, the Computer Aided Command Post Phase from 25 April to 8 May and the Field Phase from 9 to 30 May, under the command and administration of the Aegean Army Command with the participation of friendly and allied elements.
Exercise EFES-2024 involved observers, units and elements from 45 countries and involved approximately 11,000 personnel. The main objectives of the exercise were to improve the military capabilities, combat readiness and command and control procedures of the joint headquarters and units”.
“Many advanced technology systems such as the new generation Fırtına-2 and Boran howitzers, PARS OMTAS wheeled vehicle with turret, Vehicle Mounted Mine Detection System, KARGU Target Guided Munition System were used in the land operation. In the air operation, the BORAN OBUSU was transported by the S-70 helicopter of the Land Forces Command.
Elements such as ATAK helicopters, KORKUT air defence gun system, TB-3 UAV and Bayraktar TB3 UCAV participated in the naval operation. In addition, MİLGEM ADA class corvettes successfully fired at coastal land targets. MARLIN SİDA, designed to perform surface warfare and electronic warfare missions, participated in the exercise. During the exercise, MİLGEM ADA class corvettes TCG BÜYÜKADA and BURGAZDA fired 76mm guns at land targets on the coast.
Advanced technology systems such as Helicopter Airborne Evacuation Platform, MIKON Micro Kamikaze Drone, BOYGA Mortar Ammunition Carrying Rotary Wing UAV were used for the first time in a firing exercise by the Special Forces Command. Various weapons and systems such as URGAN Rope Camera System, CADEX Sniper Rifle and NIGHTFORCE ATACR Weapon Mounted Optical Scope were used in various ways and for the first time in a live fire exercise.
