The Land ATMACA missile, developed to meet the operational needs of the Land Forces Command, hit its target with pinpoint accuracy during the Long Range (UM) test firing, achieving its longest range and longest flight!
In the statement issued by Roketsan’s X platform, “Land ATMACA Long Range flew! ATMACA UM has performed its longest range and longest duration flight by hitting its target with pinpoint accuracy in the test firing activity! May it be a blessing for our country and our beloved nation!
The Land ATMACA long-range tactical wheeled land vehicle-launched cruise missile, being developed to meet the requirements of the Land Forces Command, will have a range of 280 km. The missile, which is being developed by ROKETSAN, is expected to enter service in 2025.
The contract for the development of the Land ATMACA was signed between the Presidium of the Defence Industry and Roketsan on 18 August 2021.
Equipped with a warhead weighing approximately 250 kilograms and an infrared imaging seeker (IIR), the Land ATMACA will be able to destroy targets with centimetre accuracy by performing aggressive manoeuvres.
The missile’s primary targets include strategic land targets, air defence batteries and surface-to-surface missile systems.
The Land ATMACA, which uses the KTJ-3700 turbojet engine developed by Kale R&D with domestic facilities, has no foreign dependency in its production and export.
The contract for the Land ATMACA was signed between the State Agency for Defence Industry (SSB) and ROKETSAN at IDEF’21. At the same exhibition, an agreement was signed between ROKETSAN and Kale ARGE for the KTJ-3200 turbojet engine procurement and integration project for SOM and ATMACA missiles.
The #ATMACA missile, manufactured by Roketsan, successfully reached its target in March 2024 with Turkey’s first indigenous and national turbojet engine (KTJ-3200) developed by Kale R&D. Under development since 2013, the KTJ-3200 will replace the French-supplied TR-40 turbojet engine currently used in the SOM, SOM-J and ATMACA missiles.
