Koluman A.Ş. has successfully delivered the initial batch of vehicles as part of the 8×8 Wheeled Container Carrier Vehicle (DROPS) Project.
This project, initiated by the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB) to fulfill the Land Forces Command’s requirements, aims to procure a total of 70 vehicles, 70 Container Handling Platforms, 195 1CC 20 Feet Containers, and 40 ZMA/ZPT Transport Platforms. The project’s completion is scheduled for the end of 2023.
Providing an evaluation of the project, SSB President Prof. Dr. Haluk GÖRGÜN said, “We have realized the first delivery of Derman, which was developed for the transportation of armored vehicles, tanks, ammunition to the operational area, and the transportation of command centers and similar structures to desired locations, as well as the recovery of damaged vehicles.”
GÖRGÜN emphasized their belief that these vehicles will enhance the operational capability of the Land Forces Command, stating that they are 8×8 wheeled, highly ballistic protected, and have high mobility in steep and inclined conditions.
The contract for the supply of Derman 8×8 Armored Logistic Support Vehicles within the scope of the 8×8 Wheeled Container Carrier Vehicle Project was signed between the Defense Industry Presidency and Koluman Otomotiv on October 26, 2021.
